If you haven’t heard about INSA, he is an anonymous street artist known for his mind blowing mural paintings which he converts to animated GIFs. This new form of art is called “GIF-iti” and it involves creating a big painting, photographing it, transforming it then photographing again until it can be made into a GIF (Graphic Interchange Format). Here are a few examples:
But this time, he decided to take his art to the next level by creating the world’s largest animated painting.
With the assistance of a 20-person squad in Brazil, INSA designed and colored four massive, 14,379 square meter paintings in Rio De Janeiro of recurring yellow and pink hearts.
Making use of images captured from a satellite, he then transformed a part of this planet into a huge, amazing animated GIF . Just take a look!
The whole project took four days, 576 man hours, and 57,515 square meters worth of paint to finish. Here is a short documentary of how it was done:
