There is a group on Facebook called Frogspotting, a place where people discuss frogs, toads, amphibians and reptiles.
Well, it turns out that frogs are more popular than you might think, and this very active group has over 63,000 members who share, discuss, laugh and comment on everything about amphibians. They are more loved animals than you might think!
And recently, Savannah Mikell has started to upload photos in the group of her frog friend, Toby.
Savannah is 23 years old and has apparently let Toby move into her dollhouse (she has no problem admitting that she still plays with it), and the pictures of the toad resting in bed, playing the piano or sitting down to eat melted everyone’s heart.
“It’s a dollhouse that was made for me when I was 6 years old. It was made by my aunt, who builds them professionally,” Savannah explained.
However, while we would love to believe that Toby has settled in, he is actually a free spirit who comes and goes as he pleases.
“Toby lives on the porch, likes to hide behind a potted plant. I’ve been seeing him for months, but there are always toads on the porch. He likes to go out when it rains.”
People ask about Toby, since he doesn’t seem to mind posing for pictures. Aren’t toads supposed to… you know, jump?
“He’s very quiet, he doesn’t mind me holding him, and sometimes I give him bugs to eat, so he knows I’ll feed him when I see him.”
Isn’t that adorable? Savannah started uploading the photos a while ago to Frogspotting along with simple and fun messages describing what Toby does. Everyone loved them because, let’s see, who can resist Toby’s charms?
What do you think? Have you ever had a toad as a pet?
