You never quite know what you are going to see when you are out for a drive. Sometimes, it might be something that inspires you and other times, it could just be the everyday scenery. When Audra Petraškienė was out for a drive by the river in her small town in Lithuania, she saw something that made her start crying right away.
She came across a dog sitting along the road. Since she is a dog lover, she pulled over and decided to check on the pup and see if he was OK. That is when she saw something that made her start crying. It was a makeshift anchor and it was tied around his neck. She then realized that his former owner had tried to drown him in the river but somehow, he escaped. She said:
“I was shocked. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry. I realized I have to do something immediately.”
She then took the dog home and cleaned him. She took it a step further and let the police know about what happened and she posted a video on Facebook to see if she could learn more about what happened.
As you can imagine, the post went viral and surprisingly, the owner showed up to claim the animal. She said he seemed like a good person and she was sure he loved the dog. That is why this is such a mystery. Who would do such a thing to a sweet dog? The dog is at the animal shelter until everything is cleared up.

She asked the dog who did such a thing in the video she shared on Facebook.
The dog went home with her and she posted the video on Facebook.
It didn’t take long before the post went viral. Everyone was shocked at what happened.
The dog wasn’t harmed.
Audra reported the crime to the police.
The owner came forward but it still isn’t known who did this to the dog.
She left the dog at the animal shelter until everything is settled.
