Figurative art is the opposite of abstract art. While abstract art gets away from the ideal and faithful reproduction of the natural world, figurative art tends to represent recognizable objects or images by trying to distort, idealize or intensify its aspects.
Bordalo II is one of those artists who builds a figurative world from essential and recycled elements, mixing paint with waste materials found on the streets or in abandoned places. His art is like a lesson to those people who don’t care about the planet we live in.

About The Artist
Artur Bordalo (Bordalo II), was born in Lisbon in 1987. He grew up watching his grandfather, Real Bordalo, painting the city of Lisbon. Bordalo II represents his own interpretation of urban landscapes and city entertainments in a figurative artwork full of vivacity and movement. He’s exploring his own mixed media on wood stand base, and has made series of collages of objects from garbage or used materials.
His work has been shown in Montana Shop & Gallery and Groupama Gallery, Lisbon (2011), Azo Molduraminuto Gallery, Lisbon (2010), Groupama Gallery Lisbon (2009), and others galleries.
