There are people who are afraid of rats, believing that they are bad and filthy creatures, but those who have them as pets would certainly argue that they are, in truth, very smart and charming animals who are great pets. It has been noted that rats exhibit compassion and like to play games with one another, such as hide-and-seek. They may not enjoy a good reputation since the Black Plague pandemic, but with films like Ratatouille being a hit, the image of rats has only gotten better and better over the last few years.
The Rachie’s Ratirement Home cares for rats of different ages and sizes. Based in Sunnybank Hills, Brisbane, the rat rescue organization focuses on taking care of rats that need a new home, or constant care. They run a Facebook page where they publish pictures of their rats, plus other activities. They also have a rather one-of-a-kind gallery where they feature weekly entries for “Best and Worst Rat of the Week,” a collection that praises some rats for their positive attitude, while shaming others for their naughtiness.
