Winter season calls for good Samaritans, not just for the sake of homeless folks out in the cold, but also for animals in desperate need. In Istanbul, Turkey, stories are emerging of people going the extra mile to help the city’s homeless dogs.
Help comes in the form of a blanket or two for a frozen pup; Sometimes, it comes in the form of hospitality, and there are even photos of dogs being allowed to stay in retail stores, where its warmer.
Ali Çelik was witness to such goodwill, noting that he saw people bringing food, cardboard to lie on, and blankets for the dogs. “The people were there to help the animals, not so that others could see them helping,” Celik told The Dodo.
These photos are proof of the charity occurring in Turkey.
