When you’re a talented young artist who works in the film industry building miniature moldes for stop motion projects and you have all these scraps of material laying around with no clear purpose, what do you do? Apparently, you build tiny houses around small houseplants, or at least that’s what LA-based artist, Jedediah Corwyn Voltz did.
The artist named the collection “Somewhere small”, which he started building last year and has rounded up to a total of 25 sculptures so far. His abilities come from over 10 years of commercial prop making and crafting structures from nothing, using different materials. He said the leftover material from those projects and some free time was the formula to the fantasy-looking constructions.
If you’re around the LA area, Voltz will have the sculptures on display at the store Virgil Normal, starting April 23rd.
