Caring Family Rescues Abandoned ‘Puppy’
A family in Whitehorse Canada found an abandoned puppy near Marsh Lake that was in dire straights. They decided to take him home because he was all alone. The family posted an ad on Facebook looking for a wet nurse for the little guy. After a couple of days, the family was lucky enough to find a mother dog. She helped nurse the fuzzy little pup back to health. Taking turns themselves, they bottle fed the pup every 3 hours. As a result, this little miracle is growing healthier every day.
They all thought in the beginning that this little creature was a dog. Yet with each day passing, they could not help but noticed the white tip on the critter’s tail. After days thinking it was perhaps a marten or Wolverine, the family contacted Yukon Wildlife Preserve. The Preserve identified the little pup, and it was not the dog, wolverine, or marten the family thought it might be after all.
Yukon Wildlife Preserve identified the animal as a red fox. Due to donations pouring into YWP, an enclosure is being planned for the Fox to live. Not only will the fox have his own space, the once dog turned Fox will also be able to live a long healthy life under the protection of the Yukon Wildlife Preserve.
