A “bodega cat” is a cat that lives, as you might have guessed, in a bodega, which is what New Yorkers call small food stores or “everything for a dollar”. But those hairballs are not just for judging customers while they are shopping.
They also provide comfort to workers who have to put up with hellish customers. They also fulfill another important mission: they control pests by preventing rodent infestations and so on.
Bodega Cats is a social networking project dedicated to these hard-working cats. The premise is simple, when someone sees one of these “bodega cats” in their natural habitat, they take a picture of it and send it to the page.
