By looking at this unique papercut pieces you can realize how unlimited the power of imagination is. Maude White, as many other artists, gets her inspiration from nature, water, birds, elephants, people, motion and more, but what makes her different from other artists is how she cuts the paper to create fantastic stories playing with positive and negative space. She is like a storyteller who writes stories with a knife, making a contrast between the black and white and making the opposite colors to speak by themseves. Her cuts are detailed, precise, evocative, and the black part of her compositions leaves an open space to the observer imagination.
Here is a selection of works from some of her series.
