The artworks we bring you today for your appreciation are just a brief selection from the extraordinary work of Ben Heine, the inventor of “Pencil Vs Camera” (April, 2010), one of the most creative and influential art concepts of the 21st century that blends drawing and photography. As a viewer of this series you will feel a magical and unique connection with both the photographer and the painter. Each picture is like a dialogue between you and the two of them, where everyone has a lot to say.
Pencil vs Camera
Flesh And Acrylic
In this colorful series from 2011, Heine creates abstract acrylic paintings on large wooden panels. A living person is integrated in the composition in such a way that the model becomes almost invisible. Heine has made several public live performances featuring this concept.
Digital Circlism
In this series that started in 2010, Heine makes digital portraits of celebrities by using only flat circles of different colors and sizes. He defines it as a synthesis of Pop Art and Pointillism. Combining his imagination with the use of graphic software Heine makes a big tribute to many iconic figures from history and pop culture.
Marilyn Monroe
Elvis Presley
Bob Marley
Freddie Mercury
Steve Jobs
Mad Hatter – Johnny Depp
