Savannah Anas, a marine biologist and advocate for animal rights heard about a litter of kittens abandoned in the middle of nowhere, so her friend and her drove almost three hours to find them and get them to safety. They succeeded but one of the kittens from the litter had a very bad eye infection.
The tiny rescue kitten, later named Scar, needed surgery in order to save his life. “Scar was so tiny at only 2 weeks old and 8.5 ounces, that the doctor would not be able to hook him up to monitors, fit a breathing tube down his throat, or know how the anesthesia was affecting him during the procedure,” Savannah shared. They decided to go ahead with the surgery and luckily, everything turned out for the better.
During this entire process, Savannah knew there was no one else that could possibly take better care of Scar, so she decided to adopt him and give him all the love he deserved. She also got him the coolest and cutest eye patch ever to protect his wounds as he recovered from surgery.
Scar is doing great today, has fully recovered from surgery but that doesn’t mean he stopped wearing his patch, in fact, he seems to love it so much, he looks for it when his human doesn’t put it on. Savannah says she continues to put the eye-patch on Scar in hopes people won’t be taken back by the fact that he’s missing an eye, but can only notice how adorable he really is!
