Brooklyn-based painter and surfer Ran Ortner makes remarkable photo-realistic oil paintings of ocean waves. The sea has always been his passion in life. His career took a big turn after he walked away with the inaugural ArtPrize in 2009 with his artwork named Open Water No. 24, an immense realistic oil painting of waves.
