Mama Pitbull Rescued After Neighbours Try Numerous Times
While in one of the worst storms in Southern California in years, Hope For Paws received a rescue call. When the team arrived on the scene, they scoured the thick brush trying to find the Mama pitbull. Huddled in a thicket den shivering as a result of the storm, laid a mom and her eight newborn pups. Rather than taking the mom pitbull first, the team began a long process of building trust with the dog.
Trusting One Bite At A Time
First of all, there was food accompanied by soft words and gentle pets. The lucky leash was eased onto the dog’s neck all while calculating the terrain to see how many pups there were. Bit by bit, the mama pit bull started to let the team from Hope for Paws rescue her babies. She licked each one of them as they were rescued. She showed unconditional love for her puppies!
Happy and Healthy
When every last of the 8 newborn puppies was safe, Eldad Hagar coaxed the mama pit bull out of her thicket nursery. She was reunited with her eight puppies, and all were taken to the vet clinic. Due to the storm, there was no power, so the team used flashlights to continue their rescue and make sure everyone was safe and healthy. The mama pit bull is now being fostered with her eight sweet puppies. They will be ready for adoption soon from The Little Red Dog.
