Meet Phoebie, a five-week-old kitten born with crooked front legs. After she was found literally crawling on her elbows, she was taken to Chatons Orphelins Montreal. There, veterinarians examined her and deciphered a way to solve the kitten’s walking problem.
After surgery her legs were bandaged, but the kitten seemed enthusiastic about walking, attempting to walk despite her handicap.
“At the beginning, she struggled to walk, but after 24 hours, she was able to slide herself on the ground to walk,” said Celine Crom of Chatons Orphelins Montreal. According to Crom, the kitten’s determination to walk helped speed her recovery.
Five weeks later, the kitten’s legs were nearly straight, and she walked and hopped around as if she had been walking since birth. Three months later, Phoebie the kitten operates as if she was never disabled, galloping around with her recovered paws. Crom labeled her “a force of nature.”
